ABOUT

Harry’s Place is a secluded idyll within walking distance of the ancient village of Cotignac with breathtaking panoramic views of the Massive des Maures. This modern, clean and airy property combines all the charms of Provence with the convenience of a short 10-minute walk to the markets, cafes and shops of one of Provence’s most beautiful and vibrant villages.

The terraced south-facing garden, filled with pines, olive trees, rosemary, thyme and lavender, enjoys day-long sunshine, and the good-sized swimming pool and sundeck, set away from the house on a lower terrace, overlooks the Provencal countryside. The property has a large outdoor living space, with comfortable seating, a large dining table and barbeque, set on the upper terrace, and again enjoying the amazing view. Whether you’re looking to relax and switch off, or explore the fantastic character of Cotignac and many attractions of the area, Harry’s Place provides an ideal base.

The house sleeps 6, has 3 bedrooms, all air-conditioned, with 2 shower rooms, one en-suite. It is decorated in a simple, contemporary style, inspired by nomadic American road trips, as much as the easy vibe of Provence, to give it an eclectic modern feel. We haven’t compromised on quality where it matters – with Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy white towels, generously equipped kitchen with a decent coffee maker, and a Green Egg BBQ/Pizza oven. The swimming pool is regularly maintained and the water quality is suitable for sensitive skin and use during pregnancy – no nasty chemicals! We’ve catered for the kids, with games, books and a ping-pong table, though there are a few steps to and from the terraces which is not ideal for toddlers. And we love dogs, so you’re welcome to bring yours with you. Fiona, our fantastic Host, is on hand to help with any issues at all.

Entire house - 6 guests, 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, 2 bathrooms.

bACKGROUND

“The house was my grandfather’s, Harry”

The house belonged to my Grandfather, Harry Chandor, a navigator who flew for RAF & BOAC. He found this special plot in the early ‘70s, and he and his wife spent many happy years in retirement here. Please raise a glass to Harry if you enjoy it too.
